Thanks to the internet, the world of sports is a much bigger place than it was a little over a decade ago. Now, with mobile phones boasting the capabilities of some laptops, you can stream live sports and watch live results come in from all over the world.

While some are very simple and provide live updates whenever the score change and others may require a subscription service, you can stream in pretty much any sport that you want to watch with the right mobile app. Here are some of the best apps for keeping up to date with live sports as well as watching some of the biggest leagues in the world.

Flash Scores for instant updates

The Flash Scores website has been used as the perfect companion for sports fans who have placed bets on multiple games from around the world. Now, they have a high-powered mobile app for Android and Apple users where users can get scores from over 30 different sports.

If you’re a Sky Television customer and have the Sky Sports package, you’ll be able to download the Sky Go app to watch channels live on the go. Or, you can go through the NOW TV app to get a day, week, or month-long passes for Sky Sports. The Sky Sports offering comes with the majority of televised live Premier League games as well as Formula One, cricket, golf, boxing, American football, darts, rugby, and much more.

This one of the most exciting seasons to watch as much live sport as possible, especially on the football front. The Premier League looks to be hotly contested by the favoured Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City, while Manchester United are at 5/2 to get into the top four. With so many games live through these apps, it’s well worth downloading one of them to your mobile.

One sport that continues to grow in popularity in the UK is that of ice hockey. While the EIHL has strong local fan bases, everyone knows that the NHL is the top domestic league in the world. While expanding their fan base directly by starting a new franchise in Las Vegas and soon in Seattle as well, the NHL is trying to appeal to even more fans worldwide by offering free to view games.

All through the first month of the season (October), the NHL is offering completely free to view games four times per week, including great matchups between the Edmonton Oilers and Nashville Predators on the 27th of October and the San Jose Sharks against the Anaheim Ducks the next day. All of the free games and all games not on Premier Sports – which is most of them – are available to watch live via the NHL app, so you may as well download it and give it a go; after all, it’s free!

Download these apps to keep up with live scores across all sports, watch many of the most popular leagues live, or even try something new for free.
