5. Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a farming simulation game that can provide hours of relaxing entertainment. The basic premise is you have inherited a piece of land. As the farmer you will raise crops, look after your livestock and maybe do some fishing among other things. Improvements in your farm are reflected in the community around you and it is a nice change of pace from blasting enemies into smithereens. Stardew Valley supports both iOS and Android. It does come with a $5 price tag but that is less than some in-game purchases that people make on free games.

Wild Rift: After years of unsuccessful attempts to play League of Legends on mobile phones Riot Games finally developed a version of the game for mobile devices. League of Legends: Wild Rift supports both iOS and Android and is free to play. It is essentially a scaled down version of the original game with less of a learning curve. Matches are shorter and it is easier to level up champions.

7. Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact debuted in September of 2020 and met with immediate success. Within a month of its release this MMORPG game had been downloaded over 17 million times. Genshin Impact is free to play. There are micro-transactions within the game but the entire campaign can be completed without making a purchase. The game allows cross-platform play and supports both Android and iOS. There have already been several updates and the developers promise much more content to come. Excellent graphics, story and gameplay ensure Genshin Impact will be around for awhile.

Legends of Runeterra is a strategic card games that takes its lore from League of Legends. It was released in April of 2020 and is free to play.
